Tellor Tributes
PulseTellor is the PulseChain "fork" of the transparent and permissionless Ethereum oracle protocol, Tellor, for smart contracts to easily get any data whenever it needs it. The protocol incentivizes an open, permissionless network of data reporting and data validation, ensuring that data can be provided by anyone and checked by everyone. Smart contracts on PulseChain are fully self contained and any information or access to off-chain data is restricted. PulseTellor solves this problem by creating a system where parties can request the value of an off-chain data point (e.g. PLS/USD) and miners compete to add this value to an on-chain data bank, accessible by all PulseChain smart contracts. Inputs to a data series are secured by a network of staked miners. The main PulseTellor smart contract creates a time series of each requested data series and aims to become the standard source of high value data for decentralized applications. This oracle, “PulseTellor”, utilizes similar incentive mechanisms to other cryptocurrency systems through the issuance of PulseTellor’s token, Tributes (TRB, also called pTRB), that are used to request a particular data series from miners.
